Slot unit. The tag on this unit indicates that it was reconditioned in 1955. The heavy copper plating that covers the armature (to prevent drop out during slot coil polarity reversal) is badly pitted on the back side, but probably not enough to cause any problems in timing. The outer twine wrap on the coils is brittle and damaged from age, as is the insulation on the lead wires.
